De 2000 \u00e0 2010, la mission \u00e9pigraphique canadienne Xanthos-L\u00e9t\u00f4on a travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 la collecte et \u00e0 l’\u00e9tude des inscriptions grecques et latines de ces deux sites arch\u00e9ologiques de Lycie, en Turquie, et \u00e0 la publication des r\u00e9sultats en version papier et en ligne. Bien que le gouvernement turc ait suspendu les travaux sur le terrain en 2011, la recherche s’est poursuivie sur les documents eux-m\u00eames. Cette pr\u00e9sentation commence par un bref aper\u00e7u de la mission, \u00e0 la fois pendant les dix ann\u00e9es consacr\u00e9es au travail sur le terrain et depuis que celui-ci a \u00e9t\u00e9 suspendu. Nous nous pencherons ensuite sur un cas particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9clairant. Le travail de prospection effectu\u00e9 en 2009 sur le site d’Aklar, un village des eschatiai<\/em> xanthiens, les confins montagneux du territoire de la cit\u00e9, a conduit \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte de deux inscriptions similaires et tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressantes li\u00e9es \u00e0 une c\u00e9l\u00e9bration religieuse locale annuelle non nomm\u00e9e. S’appuyant sur des parall\u00e8les lyciens, les textes abordent un certain nombre de questions essentielles, telles que le statut de la k\u014dm\u0113 anonyme sur le territoire de Xanthos \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque hell\u00e9nistique, la nature de ces c\u00e9l\u00e9brations cultuelles locales loin du centre urbain, le r\u00f4le des magistrats locaux, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2000 to 2010, the Canadian epigraphic mission of Xanthos-Letoon worked on collecting and studying the Greek and Latin inscriptions of these two archaeological sites in Lycia, Turkey, and publishing the results in print and online. Though the Turkish government suspended field work in 2011, research has continued into the documents themselves. This presentation begins with a brief overview of the mission, both during the 10 years devoted to field work and since this was suspended. We will then turn to a particularly illuminating case. Survey work in 2009 on the site of Aklar, a village of the Xanthian eschatiai<\/em>, the mountainous borders of the territory of Xanthos, led to the discovery of two similar and very interesting inscriptions related to an unnamed annual local religious celebration. Drawing on Lycian parallels, the texts address a number of key questions, such as the status of the anonymous k\u014dm\u0113 on the territory of Xanthos during the Hellenistic period, the nature of local cultic celebrations far from the urban center, the role of local magistrates and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
