\nAnother year, another Summer School season hosted by the Canadian Institute in Greece! With the popularity growing each and every year, students took advantage of this amazing opportunity, and the spots filled up fast!<\/p>\n
\nAnother year, another Summer School season hosted by the Canadian Institute in Greece! With the popularity growing each and every year, students took advantage of this amazing opportunity, and the spots filled up fast!<\/p>\n
With four summer schools, of 3 weeks each, in motion, we are beginning the season with the two Francophone Attic-Peloponnese groups! These two groups, with a total of 83 students, are held simultaneously with each group taking turns learning within the classroom at the Canadian Institute’s headquarters before visiting the various sites in Athens!<\/p>\n

Week one had a magnificent start with a guided visit around Athens and supper at the amazing “Klimataria” located near the central market of Athens!<\/p>\n
Day two saw both groups already going to the Island of Aegina, the land of Pistachios, where they visited the Temple of Aphaia high up in the mountains.<\/p>\n

If the excited chatter hadn’t given it away, the glee in the student’s eyes would have told of their excitement to hike the Acropolis on day 3. The scale of the Parthenon, Propylon, and the Erechtheion thoroughly impressed them, and they came down with their expectations fulfilled.<\/p>\n

Saturday, May 4th, saw the split of both groups. Group 1 visited both Greek and Roman agoras, thoroughly fascinated by their many differences in term of buildings and organization. Group 2 visited the Byzantine museum, allowing the students to have a sneak peak of the Byzantine sites that will be visited during the Peloponnese portion of the trip.<\/p>\n

While Sunday was a free day, these two groups also had the chance of a lifetime! The first weekend of the Summer School corresponded Orthodox Easter.
